Start with the job you need the software to do

Choosing between SwimmingPoolLog and Pool Shark H2O starts with scope. Do you need a straightforward shared water-test log, or are you buying a wider operating system for the facility? Write down the tasks your staff must complete and the records your manager must retrieve before comparing feature lists.

This comparison is written by the SwimmingPoolLog team. Competitor descriptions come from the linked official product page, reviewed on October 19, 2026; we have not independently tested that product. Confirm current capabilities and pricing before purchase.

What Pool Shark H2O describes

Pool Shark H2O describes customizable pool logs, chemical usage records, water analysis, and chemical dosage recommendations. Its feature page also describes downloads of pool and chemical usage logs.

If your team wants software-assisted water analysis or dosage recommendations alongside the log, include Pool Shark H2O in your evaluation. Ask the vendor to demonstrate the exact tests, chemicals, and review process used at your facility.

Where SwimmingPoolLog fits

SwimmingPoolLog centers on a short staff workflow: scan the pool’s QR sign, enter a personal PIN, and record the test in a phone browser. Managers get per-pool history, staff attribution, configured ranges, flags for out-of-range readings, and CSV exports.

The entry form records free chlorine and pH, with optional alkalinity and temperature. Staff can document actions after an out-of-range reading. The product does not currently provide automatic chemical dosing recommendations, email or text alerts for readings, or arbitrary custom log fields.

Use the live demo to check whether that scope fits your team. A tool that handles fewer tasks can be appropriate when you already have good systems for scheduling and facility records, but missing a required log field is a reason to evaluate alternatives.

Use the same buying checklist for both

Ask a staff member to enter a realistic test, then ask the manager to find it and export it. Include any additional fields your facility needs. Check internet access at the actual test station, staff offboarding, record retention, and access after cancellation.

Compare the total cost for all pools and spas, including required modules or setup services. Avoid comparing a basic logging plan with a broader package as if they cover the same work. Neither a product description nor this comparison establishes acceptance under your local rules.
